51st Presiding Officers and Clerks Conference (POCC) – Democracy’s Way Forward

The Parliament of Victoria invites Presiding Officers and Clerks from Australian, New Zealand and Pacific Parliaments to the 51st Presiding Officer and Clerks’ Conference at Parliament House, Melbourne.
The theme of the conference is “Democracy’s Way Forward”.
The conference will enable conversations on the way forward for us and the people we represent in facing the many challenges in a rapidly changing world, and for our parliaments in seizing the opportunity to strengthen and revitalise democracy. Delegates who wish to present a paper at this year’s conference should complete the relevant section of the registration form.
Delegates will hear from key note speakers and participate in plenary sessions and workshops to generate and debate ideas and share their experience with colleagues.
The conference week consists of:
- Monday 4 July 2022 – Arrival and Welcome Reception
- Tuesday 5 July to Thursday 7 July 2022 – Formal Conference
- Friday 8 July 2022 – Optional full-day excursion and AFL Match (final arrangements to be confirmed).
Commonwealth Parliamentary Association meetings will be held during the conference.
The conference also includes two conference dinners.
A Partner’s program is also being designed for delegates’ accompanying partners/spouses.
